On this page, we introduce you to our associates, people and organisations who work very closely with vzw SuperNils to effectively achieve our goals. Currently, our network of associates consists of 12 partners<\/strong>. Each of them has a specific meaning for us. We will take you for a brief introduction ...\u00a0<\/p>

We collaborate with four organisations\/partners on projects and interactive packages. They thus effectively support us in the objective of boosting patients' mental well-being. They are LukiArt asbl<\/strong> From Sint-Martens-Latem, Fyxxilab<\/strong> from Ghent, the hospital care staff <\/strong>and more specifically also AZ Delta Roeselare<\/strong>, with whom we concluded an official cooperation agreement. Together with them, we realised the interactive boxes \"SuperNils Sketch Workshop\", \"Talisman Box\", \"Technique Box\" and \"Movement Box\".\u00a0<\/p>

With Lost & Co asbl<\/strong> we partnered to organise a training on grief and loss for teachers facing cancer in the classroom. The organisation provided a professional meeting and a lot of valuable material, with which the teachers could start their own school policy on grief and loss. With the same people, in the near future (2024) we will set up discussion groups for relatives of haematological patients,a need we want to help fill.<\/p>

A recent partner is LEA<\/strong>. Together with us, they organise the discussion groups for relatives of haematological cancer patients. Of course, we involve other organisations and people in this organisation to ensure added value in terms of content.<\/p>

And then there are the patient organisations, united in the BHS<\/strong> (Belgian Haematological Society). Thanks to this group, we get more awareness among haematological patients and also a lot of information that we get to share on our website. A very useful group of people, who meet bi-monthly and of which vzw SuperNils is part. One patient organisation specifically, viz. Lymphoma Cancer Association Flanders vzw<\/strong>, supports us in the development of the SuperNils Days, where we hand out fun gifts to patients in our six partner hospitals.<\/p>

With two partners, the cooperation consists of sharing each other's brochures and information so that the specific workings become known to a wider audience. Name recognition is thus central here. It involves Villa Max<\/strong> from Brasschaat and Snow sports Flanders<\/strong> (headquarters in Berchem).<\/p>

Finally, there are the University of Ghent<\/strong>\u00a0and the UZA Foundation<\/strong>, affiliated to the University of Antwerp. With each of them, vzw SuperNils has a university fund to support scientific research into leukaemia.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

LukiArt vzw is a highly creative organisation dedicated to \"art tailored to the sick child\". They organise workshops at their location in Sint-Martens-Latem, but also at sick children's homes or hospitals. Specifically for us, they developed an art box with all kinds of sustainable materials, with which the children can create a talisman. This lucky charm should give them strength to fight their illness. Their resident artist, Nils, provided the videos at the SuperNils Sketch Workshop. He teaches patients to draw and sketch figures to create their own artwork. NPO SuperNils, together with Pfizer, provided the drawing materials.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Losing someone or losing your health happens to everyone from time to time. Lost & Co does not want to cover up such losses, but they make stories about loss visible and discussable, inviting everyone to join in. After all, talking helps to deal with loss.\nLost & Co vzw is helping SuperNils to provide training for teachers facing cancer in the classroom. How do you make loss negotiable in a classroom? What do you say and what is better not to say? Teachers are given a package of information to work out their own school policy on mourning and loss. Because you are better prepared for what you would rather not experience ...\nThe professionals of Lost & Co vzw will also help us develop discussion groups for the relatives of haematological patients. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The Fyxxilab is the first innovative makerspace in Flanders. In Ghent and on location, children, young people and adults aged 5 to 99 get hands-on to work with all kinds of innovative STEAM tools.\nTogether with SuperNils, \"technology kits\" are now being developed, packed with fun, exciting and innovative STEAM material. Great to take your mind off things during a long hospital stay, but also very educational. Get rid of boredom, forget about misery for a while, but get to work with great material and enrich your knowledge at the same time. Besides being a target group, they are also active partners, in the development of our projects and interactive packages.\nFor instance, we receive substantive, technical and practical support from the physiotherapists, among others, in the development of the movement box, a suitcase full of materials that patients can use in their hospital rooms.\nThe input of these hospital staff is hugely important. That way, we are sure to offer the right materials and not suggest incorrect movements on our accompanying sheets and videos. The Belgian Haematological Society is a scientific association consisting of over 500 members: internists, biologists, nurses, other scientists and patient organisations with a specific interest in the field of haematology.\nAmong other things, they are engaged in building the necessary relationships to represent Belgian Hematology with public or private, national or international companies and departments involved in clinical practice, education or research in Hematology. Asbl SuperNils is a member of the patient committee of the BHS. There, we cooperate with the other patient organisations and get a huge amount of useful information (including on clinical studies) that we can share on our website. Moreover, this cooperation is very important for our visibility and brand awareness.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Lymphatic Cancer Association Flanders vzw (LVV for short) is a patient organisation for and founded by (former) lymphatic cancer patients. LVV is active throughout Flanders and targets young to old. LVV can therefore rely on volunteers who have had the disease themselves or have experienced it closely. LVV has no staff and is therefore entirely run by volunteers who put their heart and soul into helping all fellow sufferers.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Sneeuwsport Vlaanderen is the only recognised ski and snowboard federation in Flanders. Recognised and subsidised by Sport Flanders, we focus on competition, recreation and training.\n
\nWe are the contact point for Flemish winter sports enthusiasts, the reference for anyone seeking information and\/or calling on our expertise.\n
\nSnow Sports Flanders also wants to support young patients with cancer. Through vzw SuperNils, they want to make their operation and proposals known to the right target group. We are immensely proud to have the University of Ghent as a partner in our operation. She collaborates on our second goal of supporting scientific research on leukaemia.
To this end, Vzw SuperNils has a research funding fund at Ghent University. Money can be donated through this fund, to support scientific research into leukaemia, the important research into immunotherapy and, finally, research into the impact of informing patients, relatives and caregivers about leukaemia and immunotherapy. Donations of 40 euros or more are tax-deductible.\n

The LEA programme guides cancer patients, their informal carers and healthcare professionals in the search for balance around the disease.

We listened to associations providing help to cancer patients, doctors, nurses and psychologists. They made us understand the importance of improving psychological support for patients and their carers. We worked on that, and that is how LEA was born.
